The Grants Administration division of the Intergovernmental Relations Office was created in FY 2023 to centrally coordinate how Travis County accesses funding from grant opportunities. Activities include researching grant opportunities to fund specific projects; project planning to meet grant requirements; writing project and budget narratives for submission; monitoring and evaluating the performance of funded projects; and facilitating the process for Travis County Commissioners Court to approve a grant application, Community Project Funding submission, and Letter of Support.

The FY 2025 Budget Rules were adopted by the Travis County Commissioners Court on September 17, 2024. The rules and policies are adopted to ensure that the implementation of the budget, including grant funding, is consistent with Commissioners Court policies and applicable laws.

The process maps below show how offices and departments can submit a grant for Commissioners Court approval.
