The Facilities Management Department's Security Division is responsible for the protection and security of Travis County persons, facilities, property, equipment, and assets using the safest and most efficient methods possible. The Division performs this essential function through four distinct operations: Security Training, Electronic Security, Physical Security, and Parking Enforcement.

  • The Security Training Section offers general and location specific awareness and security training for all County employees. Security courses complement each other and build upon individual employee and departmental awareness and security efforts.
  • The Electronic Security Section manages countywide electronic access control and video monitoring devices. The Security Division utilizes a state-of-the-art hardware and software platform to manage countywide electronic security.
  • The Physical Security Section includes both the Security Operations Center and Security Guard personnel. The Security Operations Center provides 24-hour alarm, access, video monitoring, dispatching, and reporting services. Security Guard personnel conduct 24-hour post and patrol operations.
  • The Parking Enforcement Section manages and enforces parking policies and utilization of Travis County surface parking lots and parking garages.

The entirety of the Security Division supports countywide vulnerability, risk, and threat assessment and mitigation efforts. We ask Travis County employees in assisting with our efforts by requesting and attending security training courses and in contacting the Security Operations Center at (512) 854-5555 / 4-5555 to report any non-emergency security concern.
